Hi! I’m Nick Stratton, the owner and luthier at Bonaventure Guitars. I grew up in my father’s wood shop, and I’ve been passionate about making things with my hands for as long as I can remember. I built my first Stratocaster copy when I was in high school, and from then on, I was hooked. I studied Industrial Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I honed my skills and trained my eye to recognize the subtleties that make the difference between a good design and a great design. After working successfully in the the product design world for several years, I still felt the need to pursue my passion for guitars. So, I left the corporate design world and moved to Michigan to attend the Journeyman and Masters courses at the Galloup School of Lutherie, which I completed in April of 2018, becoming a Certified Practicing Luthier. The skills I was taught at the Galloup School, along my lifelong woodworking experience and background in design, are the bedrock on which Bonaventure Guitars was built. Now located in Gallatin, TN, right outside Nashville. Let’s make your dream instrument a reality.
